Links to my inner mom-ologue
We made it through January! If you are allergic to winter like me, you will agree this fact is worth celebrating—a tiny win propagated by lingering sunsets and the foreshadowing of a woodland creature. I’m not happy that Phil saw his shadow, but if I stay this busy, six weeks of deep freeze will fly on by.
This week, I’m working on two very different essays for other publications about parenthood. I won’t spoil the details, but I mention it because I am spread a bit thin, particularly as I collect a trove of treats to share with you in next week’s second-annual *treat yo’self* Valentine’s Day issue.
Our Tiny Rebellions received a lot of new subscribers in the past few months, and I realize many of you missed my prior reflections on parenthood. As you will come to see, I write about being a mother quite often but less as a subject matter and more as a circumstance that led to the tiny win or loss I’ve observed. I make note of this distinction, because this is not only a mother’s newsletter, just as I am not only a mother. We are not only one thing.
Here are my favorite Our Tiny Rebellions on parenthood:
If you enjoyed these, I hope you’ll consider sharing one of them on social or with a friend who may not be a subscriber.
One final note: I’m blown away by the Substack Pledges I’ve received. I’ve always published free content but knowing that some of you are willing to underwrite my ability to continue doing this is beyond a dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Your wins
After pulling herself from the circuit a while back, Lucy went on not one, but two dates this week. There won’t be second dates with either of these dudes, but being proud of the woman she is and the story she tells of herself is the win. Get it, girl!
